Nestled on 2 wooded acres in beautiful Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina, the recently completed Charleston Center for Jewish Life (CCJL), just minutes across the Ravenel Bridge from historic Charleston, is breathtaking. Although it currently boasts an ultramodern Kosher kitchen, two classrooms, a social hall and beautiful gardens and a welcoming coffee bar and lounge, a library and a sanctuary on the horizon, this state-of-the-art facility pales in comparison to the unbridled energy, pride, faith and love that is regularly exuded within its boundaries.

The dream of building a ‘third place’, apart from home and work, that could anchor our existence was the result of careful planning, meticulous research, invaluable input, inspiring generosity and a desire to meet many of the needs of our Jewish friends and neighbors. Since opening in the Fall 2016, the CCJL has quickly begun to help the local community better achieve its goals of preserving, embracing and building upon our Jewish faith and heritage. Rabbi Yossi and Rebbetzin Sarah are committed to this wonderful gathering place being the centerpiece of a vibrant and active community for decades after our children’s children are breaking bread together in this enchanting facility.
